GEOCACHING
ADVENTURES !
We LOVE this activity….we choose hiking trails based on the number of geocaches !!!
Geocaching is an outdoor recreational activity, in which participants use a Global Positioning System (GPS) device, mobile cell device and other navigational techniques to hide and seek containers, called "geocaches" or "caches", at specific locations marked by coordinates all over the world.
A typical cache is a small waterproof container containing a logbook and sometimes a pen or pencil. The geocacher signs the log with their established code name and dates it, in order to prove that they found the cache. After signing the log, the cache must be placed back exactly where the person found it. Larger containers such as plastic storage containers (Tupperware or similar) or ammunition boxes can also contain items for trading, such as toys or trinkets (called swag). These items are normally of nominal value.
As of June 2023, we have found 2,315 caches in 29 different States and 4 Countries.
Geo-Art is where caches are placed to create a special shape. We have completed several Geo-Arts. We typically complete these in a single day and sometimes they are really LONG days !!!
We are hoping to monetize our YouTube channel. This requires a minimum of 1,000 subscribers…If you like our content, please subscribe on YouTube.

McDowell Mountain Park is located about 30 minutes outside of Phoenix, Arizona. It is a large county park with hiking trails and a campground. There are several large geocache power trails in the park and we cached a few of them.
This is a really short video reflecting 3 geocaches we found on a cool rainy winter day in a park in West Virginia.
